The Effects of N-acetylcysteine in Patients with Amanita phalloides Intoxication

چکیده
Conclusions: Amanita phalloides intoxication can be successfully treated with N-acetylcysteine in addition to the standard regimen. Significantly, the simplicity of administration, good tolerance, and an affordable cost make N-acetylcysteine a viable option for the treatment of Amanita phalloides intoxication. The low mortality rate presented in the study group may be ascribed to N-acetylcysteine administration. The Effects of N-acetylcysteine in Patients with Amanita phalloides Intoxication

Amanita Phalloides Intoxication Misdiagnosed as Acute Appendicitis: A Case Report
Background: Acute appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency of the childhood. Its diagnosis is really challenging. A constellation of through history taking, physical examination, radiographic investigations, and laboratory analysis should be used to balance the risk of delayed operative intervention against the removal of a normal appendix. Here a case with misdiagnosis of acute app...

متن کاملEarly initiation of MARS® dialysis in Amanita phalloides-induced acute liver injury prevents liver transplantation.
Amanita phalloides is the most relevant mushroom intoxication leading to acute liver failure. The two principal groups of toxins, the amatoxins and the phallotoxins, are small oligopeptides highly resistant to chemical and physical influences. The amatoxins inhibit eukaryotic RNA polymerase II causing transcription arrest affecting mainly metabolically highly active cells like hepatocytes and ...
